GoPro’s seemingly dominant position within the Action Camera market continues with another product release to the ever popular and competitive Action Cam market named the GoPro Hero (2018).
This particular model has been named simply the “GoPro Hero (2018)” model and it appears that this is the next budget model from GoPro after the GoPro Hero+LCD model back in 2015.
The new GoPro Hero 2018 model offers only HD recording over the 4K video option of it’s predecessors such as the Hero6 which is likely to keep the budget down. HD video however can still offer exciting, smooth and clear images or video to playback those amazing memories captured.
Storage of the video recordings still comes from the ever popular storage format micro SD cards or microSDHC and microSDXC memory cards to be terminally correct! Techincally the GoPro Hero 2018 should support to 2TB memory cards as the device supports ex-FAT format cards (SDXC) according to GoPro. We think 128GB is likely the limitation of the onboard firmware currently.
The product also offers wi-fi for connectivity to your phone via the app, and is equipped with the latest Type-C USB connection for faster data transfer if you choose to make use of a cable to transfer data over wi-fi. Most don’t as it’s fiddly, however you will still need the USB to be able to charge the Hero 2018 to full battery.
Recommended Memory Cards for the GoPro Hero (2018).
