We recently added a new type of Memory card to our website, the sony XQD G series. We are going to look at what this memory card can be used with and what we can expect from this. The Sony XQD G Series range comes in 3 Different capacities such as 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and measures 29.6 x 38.5 x 3.8mm and weights just 10g with an operating temperature between -25 and 65. Sony have designed this card to replace some of the original compact flash memory cards that was used mainly for professional Photographers. So only Professional Cameras DSLRs and Camcorders have been designed to take these cards.
With the
XQD eventually designed to superceed the Compact Flash Range of cards and being aimed at professional photographers, the
XQD range has to be High speed memory card. So that when photographers are taking photos a moment isnt missed. Sony have put these cards with an incredible speed of up to 400mb/s whilst the read speed (playback) has another great write speed of up to 440mbs. So as soon as the photo is snapped the photographer can review their shot instantly with a blink of the eye. With the memory card being used for professionals sony has designed the memory card to be robust as they know it will be put through its paces so they have done extensive test on the memory card and make it X-Ray proof to make sure none of the shoots are damaged within travel.
With the speeds being so great. This memory card will be able to handle 4K videos with easy and we hoping that in the future when 8K Videos will be on the market that sony and Nikon will still be using these memory card slots as this particular series will be able to handle the speed that would be required to handle the Data.

My Overall opinion of this memory card range is that, it is fantastic memory card and up to date with great read and write speeds and has been specially designed for the professional camera and with great expectations.
